Privacy Policy

This page describes how the live product currently works. It is prepared for lawyer review and is not claimed as lawyer-approved. Owner or counsel must confirm jurisdiction, retention periods, and processor list before final launch.

Make the Move (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.getmakethemove.com, including the free quiz, free Day 0 / Day 1 practice, account signup, the 21-day Course app (TODAY, LOCKER, THE BOOK, YOU), newsletter and waitlist forms, and (when enabled) paid checkout.

Information we collect

Account: email, password hash, optional display name, privacy consent timestamp when you create an account (including at first receipt save).
Practice data: course progress, day outcomes, optional notes / receipts, Day 12 exit grade, Day 21 private letter, drafts, and your account IANA time zone. Journal notes and the Day 21 letter are treated as private to your account and are not placed on share cards.
Visitor progress: before signup, progress may be stored against a visitor cookie on this device and merged into your account after you sign up.
Quiz: answers and result key you submit.
Newsletter / waitlist / contact: name and email (and message content for contact).
Payments (when checkout is enabled): email and purchase metadata via Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Analytics (optional): if you accept the analytics banner, we may load Google Analytics, PostHog, and/or Meta Pixel when those tools are configured. We do not send journal text, private letters, or passwords to analytics.

How we use information

To run the Course: unlock pacing in your account time zone, save receipts, show your Locker
To create and secure your account, and restore progress after signup
To process paid enrollments and self-serve refunds when purchases are enabled
To send transactional messages (for example password recovery) and, only if you opted in, newsletter updates
To improve the product using consented analytics events (funnel steps, not private notes)

Marketing email

Marketing email is currently off. Newsletter signup is opt-in. Creating a free practice account for receipt save is not treated as marketing consent.

Third-party services

Depending on configuration, we use hosting and database providers, Stripe for payments, Zoho for transactional email, and optional analytics vendors named above. Each has its own privacy policy.

Owner input needed: final list of subprocessors and data regions for lawyer pack.

Retention and deletion

Progress and account data remain while your account exists. There is not yet a fully automated in-app “delete my account” button. To request access or deletion, email hello@getmakethemove.com. Owner/lawyer: confirm SLA and export format before launch.

Your rights

You may unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in those emails. You may request access to or deletion of personal data by contacting hello@getmakethemove.com. EU/UK and other rights (where applicable) will be confirmed in the lawyer review.
